WashEra Inc. ("WashEra," "we," "us," or "our") operates a smart locker laundry platform accessible through our mobile application. Our service provides a convenient, technology-driven laundry experience: customers drop off laundry using QR-based identification at smart lockers installed in participating apartment buildings, garments are professionally processed with item-level tracking through every stage of washing, drying, and folding, and customers receive automated notifications when their items are ready for pickup via the app.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use the WashEra mobile application and related services. By using our service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. We encourage you to read this document carefully so you understand your rights and our obligations regarding your data.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us when you create an account and use our service, as well as information that is generated automatically during your use of the WashEra app. The types of information we collect fall into the following categories:
Account Information
When you create a WashEra account, we collect your name, email address, and phone number. This information is necessary to identify you, secure your account, and communicate with you about your orders and service updates.
Payment Information
All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. When you add a payment method, your card details are sent directly to Stripe's secure servers. WashEra never stores, processes, or has access to your full credit card numbers, CVV codes, or other sensitive payment card data. We only retain a Stripe customer identifier and a reference to your payment method for processing future transactions.
Order Information
We collect information related to your laundry orders, including your service selections, order history, locker interactions, and garment tracking data as items move through the wash, dry, and fold stages of processing. This information helps us deliver your order accurately and allows you to monitor progress in real time through the app.
Device Information
We automatically collect basic device information such as your device type, operating system version, and the version of the WashEra app you are using. This data helps us maintain compatibility, troubleshoot technical issues, and improve app performance.
Location Information
We collect location information only when you actively interact with a smart locker station, such as during drop-off or pickup. We do not continuously track your location in the background. Location data is used to verify your proximity to the locker and facilitate the unlocking process.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our laundry service. Specifically, we use your information for the following purposes:
- Service delivery: To process your laundry orders, assign locker compartments, coordinate pickup and delivery with our processing staff, and track garments through every stage of cleaning.
- Payment processing: To charge for services rendered, process refunds when applicable, and maintain transaction records for your account history.
- Order status notifications: To send you real-time updates about your order, including confirmation of drop-off, progress through washing, drying, and folding stages, and notification when your items are ready for pickup.
- Garment tracking: To track individual garments through each processing stage, ensuring accurate handling and enabling you to monitor progress through the app.
- App improvement: To analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical problems, and develop new features that make the service more convenient and reliable.
- Customer support: To respond to your inquiries, resolve issues with your orders, and provide assistance when needed.
4. Third-Party Services
We work with a limited number of trusted third-party service providers to operate our platform. Each provider is selected for their strong security practices and is only given access to the minimum data necessary to perform their function:
- Supabase: Provides our secure cloud database infrastructure and user authentication services. Your account data and order information are stored on Supabase's servers with encryption at rest and in transit, protected by row-level security policies that ensure users can only access their own data.
- Stripe: Handles all payment processing as a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified provider. Stripe receives your payment card information directly and returns only a secure token to our systems, meaning we never handle raw card data.
- Apple Push Notification Service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: Used to deliver push notifications to your device about order status updates and important service communications.
- Analytics: We use anonymized analytics to understand how our app is used and to improve the user experience. Analytics data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide our services to you. If you choose to delete your account, we will remove all personal data associated with your account within 30 days of your request. This includes your name, email, phone number, order history, garment tracking data, and app preferences.
Certain financial transaction records, such as payment amounts, dates, and transaction identifiers, may be retained for up to seven years after the transaction date as required by applicable financial regulations and tax laws. These retained records contain the minimum information necessary for legal compliance and cannot be used to reconstruct your full account profile.
6. Your Rights

- Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including your account information, order history, and any other data associated with your account.
- Correction: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data. You can also update most of your account information directly through the app.
- Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data. You can initiate this process directly from the app settings or by emailing us.
- Opt-out of marketing: You have the right to opt out of receiving promotional communications from us at any time. You can do this through the app notification settings or by following the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Data portability: You have the right to request your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format so that you can transfer it to another service provider.
We will respond to all legitimate requests within 30 days. In certain circumstances, we may need to verify your identity before processing your request to protect your account security.
7. Children's Privacy
WashEra's service is not directed at individuals under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our account registration requires users to be at least 18 years of age. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take immediate steps to delete that information from our servers. 8. Security
We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement multiple layers of protection to safeguard your data. Our security measures include industry-standard TLS encryption for all data transmitted between your device and our servers, ensuring that your information is protected in transit. All data stored in our database is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
Our authentication system uses secure token-based protocols, and we enforce row-level security policies on all database tables, meaning that each user can only access their own data at the database level — not just the application level. Payment information is handled exclusively by Stripe's PCI-certified infrastructure and never touches our servers.
While no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, we continuously review and update our security practices to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information.
9. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with additional rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to know: You have the right to request that we disclose what categories of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which it was collected, the business purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to delete: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions permitted by law, such as data needed for legal compliance or completing a pending transaction.
- Right to opt-out of sale: You have the right to direct us not to sell your personal information. However, we want to make clear: WashEra does not sell, share, or trade your personal data for monetary or other valuable consideration. We have never sold user data and have no plans to do so.
- Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. You will not receive different pricing, a different quality of service, or be denied service for exercising your privacy rights.
